The missing Ingredient

Have you ever tried to bake a cake and realized that you were missing one of the key ingredients? If the cake is made from scratch, you may be missing eggs, oil, flour, flavoring or a number of other things. By not having all of the ingredients, the cake will not taste the same.

The same thing happens in the life of business owners. They have many ingredients that they need to run and operate a successful business but so many times, they are missing one key ingredient. Statistics tell us that 80% of small businesses fail within the first 5 years and of the 20% that make it, 90% of those fail between years 5 and 10. WOW!

The business owner has several ingredients for success but often times, they do not realize they are missing one ingredient; furthermore, if they recognize they are missing an ingredient, they don’t know how to identify what it is.

I recently talked with a man who owns a pest control business. He said, “We sell enough new business every year to add one new route but we can’t keep enough of the new customers to actually start a new route. I can’t figure it out.”

Our business consulting company, Training of Champions can help identify the missing ingredient.

Many business owners fail to utilize a key ingredient called networking.

When endorsing our book, The Networking Guru, Don Morgan co-author of 3 best-selling books, Masters of Sales, Masters of Success and Masters of Networking wrote some wonderful things.

It’s clear within the first pages, that Mr. Barber is well-read in the area of networking. Glimpses from many other best-selling networking books are seen throughout his allegory. Barber’s story guides the reader through the systematic maze of a global referral-marketing strategy; and each step can be used independently or together to help the reader increase their own referred business. I anticipate providing my marketing clientele with this highly condensed easy-to-read text book on referral marketing.  This book is a missing piece!”

I am most appreciative for Don’s endorsement. What he was saying is that The Networking Guru is a missing ingredient for many in regards to their networking effort.

If you know a business that currently struggles, have them contact us or another great business consultant or coach who can help. Russ Young with Action Coach of Atlanta, David Alexander and Doug Grady with High Achievers, Gina Herald with Personal Success Partners or Hugh Grey with HBG Coaching will train them to be champions.

If you or someone you know would like to maximize networking efforts, as Don said, The Networking Guru is the missing piece. Read the book twice every year and follow the principles found therein. The results will astound you.
