13 Million Dollars willed to a cat?!?

I have some friends who post blogs on a regular basis. Doug Grady, Dr. Ivan Misner, Robert Mitchell and Tim Wilhoit always write blogs that have good content but sometimes one of them will write a blog that I feel needs to be shared. When I share a blog, I always make sure it benefits people.

Below is one such blog that everyone should read but also respond appropriately. Tim Wilhoit is a Co-Founder of Ready Wills www.readywills.com. Tim Wilhoit is also owner/principal of Your Friend 4 life www.yourfriend4life.com Insurance Agency in Nashville, TN.

I was reading an old news story from ABC News Good Morning America, about an elderly lady in Italy that died at age 94 and wills her cat, her beloved kitty Tammaso, her entire estate of $13 million. That is one lucky cat. Can you imagine how much catnip he could buy with $13 million? This lady had no children and suffered from loneliness. She rescued the cat and looked after it as if it were her own son. She wanted to be sure the cat was properly cared for so she wills her cat her $13 million fortune to be sure it would be cared for upon her death.

As a crazy as this story may seem to most of us, this cat was her whole life. A will is the only way to insure those you love and care about are properly taken care of in the event of your death. Whether you have a beloved pet, children, significant partner or just a dear friend, having a will insures those you love and care about are properly taken care of just like the lady’s beloved cat.

For various reasons, many people procrastinate when it comes to purchasing their will. I hear such excuses as it will cost too much, I’m young, I’m in good shape or I don’t have time.

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy.”—Wayne Gretzky

Tim stresses a great point in his blog. People do the same thing in other areas of life. I have heard a plethora of people say, “I will get to it later.” A few years ago, I wrote a song entitled, “Tomorrow Never Came.”

If you do not have a will, quit procrastinating; if you need to change something about your life, quit procrastinating; if you need training, quit procrastinating; if you desire to become a champion, quit procrastinating. Do something to change your world today!
